Nothing dresses up a dull outfit like a cute crochet bow ear warmer. If you’re not a beanie person then the next best thing is one of these cuties. The color options are endless and with this ear warmer that I created, the bow can be worn towards the side of the head or nearer to the front. I just love 5his ear warmer. It’s so simple to make.
For this crochet bow ear warmer you will need a weight 4 yarn, a 5mm crochet hook and two buttons.
Band:
Ch 80 using your 5mm hook.
Dc into 3rd ch from hook. Dc to end of ch. Ch 2. Turn
Dc to end of row. Ch 2. Turn.
Repeat last row until you have a total of 5 rows. If you want the band wider simply add more rows.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Sew 2 buttons about 2cm in from edge of one end of the band.
Bow:
Ch 35.
Join with a slip stitch to first ch to form a loop. Make sure chain is not twisted. Ch 2.
Dc into the next ch, then dc all the way around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning ch 2 that you made at the beginning of the round.
Ch 2 and dc all the way around. Join with slip stitch to the ch 2 at beginning of round. Repeat this row until you have a total of 7 rounds.
Fasten off and weave in all ends. With your finger tips create a bow by cinching the top and bottom together and secure with a small stitch with your yarn needle and some yarn. Put to one side.
Bow cincher:
Ch 5. Dc into 3rd ch from hook. Dc to end of chain. Turn.
Ch 2 and dc to end. Turn.
Repeat last row until you have a total of 8-9 rows.
Fasten off leaving a long tail.
Assembly:
Lay your band flat on a hard surface and place the bow on top of it. With the cincher, wrap around the center of the bow and around the band. Sew the two ends of 5he cincher together. Weave in all ends.
Enjoy!!
Can you show how you connect the back? Mine has a really long tail that looks very weird.
