Learn to crochet this quick and beginner friendly Crochet Funfetti Bomber Cardigan. Cozy and super chunky, this bomber cardigan will get you through the winter. The oversized fit and simple crochet stitches create this easy and trendy crochet bomber cardigan.

This free crochet pattern is also accompanied with a step by step video tutorial. Please scroll down to view.

The cardigan is worked by creating five panels: the back panel, two front panels and two sleeves. All panels are worked from the bottom up beginning with the ribbed hem or cuff. I chose really easy and basic stitches throughout the cardigan because I wanted any beginner to follow along.

YARN

I chose Hobbii Umami Tweed to create this crochet bomber cardigan. This yarn is a super bulky yarn that is perfect for creating cardigans, sweaters or hats. It’s bulky weight means anything you make with it will work up very quickly.

The shade I chose was Pink Neon Glaze. When it arrived I literally gasped with excitement because I have not seen a tweed yarn like this before. It has a beautiful bubblegum pink base with neon flecks similar to what I describe as highlighter pen throughout. I love the bright neon greens, oranges and yellows throughout this yarn. It really is unique.

Umami Tweed has a fibre content of 75% acrylic, 22% wool and 3% viscose. It is a super chunky yarn and soft to the touch. One of the best things about this yarn is that it is machine washable, making it perfect for everyday wear.

There is a nice variety of colours to chose from in the line, from a more muted tone to some of the loudest and more playful tones.

Thank you for the very detailed assembly instructions! I made a cardigan awhile ago from another designer and, although the pattern was written beautifully, there were no instructions at all for assembly and it got quite confusing. I have a large yarn cake sitting upstairs that I’ve been looking for the perfect pattern for. I’ve just found it! ❤️❤️

Thank you Carrie for sharing this crochet pattern! I’ve been looking for an easy cardigan to crochet & I love how the stitches create a wavy pattern & it’s easy to follow. I just finished mine & I added some buttons, but I will be making several more using your pattern in different color yarn. Blessings to you🙏💕😉

Just made this cardigan and it turned out perfect, surprisingly as it’s the first cardigan I’ve ever crocheted.I used Lion Brand Hometown yarn in the color Houston Cream and you can really see the texture, it sort of looks like a modern take on cable knit in that color. I also adjusted some measurements based on how I wanted the garment to fit, taking note of when I needed to end on a slip stitch or have an even number of stitches. Thank you, and the combination written and video instructions were perfect for me!
