Need a quick and easy crochet crop top to make? This pattern is perfect for you then.
Materials needed:
Weight 4 cotton yarn
4mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
The cups:
Ch 14. Dc into 4th ch from hook. Dc until you reach last st. In this last st place 2dc, ch 1, 2dc. Then continue working on the opposite side of the chain making a dc into each st to the end. Turn.
Next row: Ch 3, dc until you reach the ch 1-sp. Make 2dc, ch 1, 2dc into that ch 1-sp. Then continue with a dc into each st to the end of the row. Repeat this row until the cup is large enough to fit around your breast.
Now make your second cup in the very same way. Put them to one side for later,
The body of the top:
Ch 79. Dc into 4th ch from hook. Dc to end of row. Turn.
Ch 3 ( counts as first dc), dc into each of next 2 sts. **Then ch 3, skip 3 sts, then make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into the following st. Then ch 3, skip 3 sts, then make a dc into each of the next 9 sts. Repeat from ** 3 more times. Then ch 3, skip 3, then make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into the following st, ch 3, skip 3 and then make a dc into each of the last 3 sts. Turn.
Ch 3, dc into each of the next 2 sts. Ch 3, then (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into the middle of the shell stitch in previous row. **Then ch 4, skip next dc, then dc into each of next 7 sts. Repeat from ** 3 more times. Then ch 4, and then make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into middle of the shell from previous row. Then ch 3 and make a dc into each of the last 3 sts. Turn.
Ch 3, dc into each of the next 2 sts. Ch 3, then (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into middle of the shell st from previous row. **Then ch 5, skip next dc, then dc into each of next 5 sts. Repeat from ** 3 more times. Then ch 5 , make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into middle of the shell st from previous row. Then ch 3 and dc into each of last 3 sts. Turn.
Ch 3, dc into each of next 2 sts. Ch 3, then (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) I to middle of shell st. ** Then ch 6, skip next dc, dc into each of next 3 sts. Repeat from ** 3 more times. Then ch 6 and make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into middle of shell st. Then ch 3 and dc into each of last 3 sts. Turn.
Ch 3, dc into each of next 2 sts. Ch 3, then (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) I to middle of shell st. ** Then ch 7, skip next dc, dc into next st (the middle dc of the 3 dc). Repeat from ** 3 more times. Then ch 7, and make (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) into middle of shell stitch, then ch 3, and dc into each of the last 3 sts.
With yarn still attached make a ch 200. Cut yarn. Attach yarn to the corner underneath that strap and make another ch 200. Cut yarn and fasten off. Repeat for other side.
Place a stitch marker in the center of the top edge of the body. Grab one of your cups wrong side facing and line it next to the stitch marker and sew to the body making sure the body part is wrong side facing you too. Grab the other cup and sew that next to the other cup.
For the shoulder straps make a ch 300. Cut yarn and fasten off. Fold that long ch in half and weave it through the ch 1 space at the top of the cup. Repeat on other side.
And that’s it. If you want more coverage on the side/back I would suggest doing a few rows of dc on the sides of the body part or make the body part in a bigger hook.
I’m almost done with this but you did not state where to place or start the chain 300 for shoulder strap can you get back soon and thanks…it a lovely top
You will start off with new yarn and make a chain of 300 and then weave through the top of your cup, then make another chain of 300 and do the same thing to the other cup
Hi there! Great pattern! What do I do with the 200 chains?
Great question. I’m wondering the same. And is it a chain of 200 on each corner of the band?
