Crochet Morrigan Shawl Construction

The shawls begins with just three stitches: a single crochet, a chain one and another single crochet. As you work through the pattern, increases are made along one side, allowing the shawl to grow in width and length.

The stitch pattern

The main body features the single crochet columns stitch, a simple two row repeat made with single crochet stitches separated by chain one spaces.

Rows of double crochet stitches, also separated by chain one spaces, are introduced throughout the design. These create subtle openwork details that break up the texture and add visual interest.

A helpful tip to keep track of increases
