Learn to crochet this quick and easy Samhradh sweater and live it up in style throughout any season of the year. Perfect worn over jeans, shorts and skirts, this sweater is a must to any wardrobe.

Not so long ago I released the Samhradh Cardigan and so many of you loved it, so i thought to myself why not make a sweater version.
This crochet sweater is designed to be oversized, yet light and airy. It is absolutely perfect to wear any season. You could make it using a cotton yarn for Spring and Summer or an acrylic wool blend for winter. The choices are endless.
The sweater is worked from the bottom up, making a front panel, back panel and two identical sleeves. Each piece is seamed together and lastly we will crochet the ribbed neckline bringing the whole piece together.
YARN
**This post contains affiliated links for which I make a small commission. It is no cost to you whatsoever but it does help me out**
The Samhradh Sweater uses Paintbox Simply Dk which is 100% acrylic yarn. This yarn is a weight 3 or Dk and comes in a huge variety of shades, making it a perfect choice for everyone.
I chose this beautiful shade of purple because I thought it had a lovely summer feel to it but can you imagine using some beautiful fall colours like mustard or rust. Perfect for Fall which is not far away from now.
Each ball of Paintbox Simply Dk contains over 300 yards so you really do get a lot for your buck and the best thing about this sweater is that it uses not an overwhelming amount of yarn. Perfect, right?!

Thank you for all the beautiful patterns. I know I cannot make them all but some I will. I live in Houston, so too hot here to wear heavy sweaters.
You are very talented.
Thank you again.
Laura

Hi is this pattern written in English or American terms?
I have just finished making the sweater – just fell in love with it… Thank you so much for sharing your pattern. I have several of your other patterns on my list of things to make, and can’t wait to have a beautiful selection of jumpers.
I love this sweater-I made one in royal blue, and now I am making it in Dusty Lilac. I was always afraid I would never be able to crochet a sweater, but your videos are wonderful and you explain every stitch and step so well. Thank you so much!
I just finished this sweater and it turned out awesome! I love it!!
Thank you for the great pattern and clear instruction on you tube. I have learned so much and become much more confident with the crochet skills.
