Crochet Amelia Crop Top

Hello my internet family. I’m so excited to share with you all the pattern for this crochet crop top. I’m absolutely in love with this crochet crop top. Yep, I realize I probably say “this is my new favorite” for just about all the tops I make, but this one will remain top of the list for some time to come. I just love the cluster stitching in the center of the top and the beautiful picot edging is to die for.

The yarn I chose to use for this crochet crop top pattern was King Cole Bamboo Cotton Dk. I can’t tell you how much I’ve fallen in love with this yarn recently. It’s texture is so soft and the look of the stitches are simply stunning.

Notes:

This pattern is written in American crochet terms.

The following crochet crop top pattern gives instructions for an xs-s size. However, if you want to make it in a bigger size just make a foundation chain that will reach from one side of the rib cage (under your breasts) to the other side of the rib cage. Make sure that number is divisible by 2, then add an extra 2 stitches to that number.

Materials Needed:

100g/252 yards of Dk (weight 3) cotton yarn.

3.5 mm crochet hook.

Pattern:

Chain 82.

Dc into 3rd ch from hook. Dc to end of chain. Now you will place a stitch marker into the 41st stitch. You will now have 40 stitches each side of the marker.

Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), then dc2tog. Continue with dc until the 3rd stitch from the marker. You will now have 2 stitches between the marker and the last worked dc.

Skip next 2 stitches and place 3 dc into the stitch with the marker. Then ch 3 and place another 3 dc into the same stitch.

Skip next 2 stitches and dc into the next stitch. Dc across the remainder of the row until 3 stitches remain. Dc2tog over the next 2 stitches, the dc into the last remaining stitch (top of the ch 2). Turn.

Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc). Dc2tog, the dc until you reach the stitch before the 1st cluster of 3 dc. Skip these 3 stitches and make (3dc, ch 3, 3dc) into the ch 3 space. Then skip the 2nd set of 3 dc cluster and dc into the following stitch. Continue across the remainder of the row until 3 stitches remain. Dc2tog, then dc into last stitch (top of the ch 2). Turn.

Repeat the last row until you have a total of 30 rows from the beginning.

Ch 1 and sc until you reach the stitch before the cluster. Make 3 sc into the ch 3 space. Skip the remainder of the cluster (the next 3dc) and sc into the following stitch. Sc across the remainder of the neck part.

Now the edging of the crochet crop top;

Ch 1 and sc down the side of the top, across. Bottom edge and up the other side and slip st into the ch 1 you began with on the neck part.

Ch 1, sc into next st, **ch 3, slip stitch into the 1st ch you made of that ch 3 (picot stitch created), skip the next sc, then sc into the following st.** Repeat from ** all the way around the top. Slip st into the ch 1 you made at the beginning of the row.

With the yarn still attached make a chain long enough for a neck strap. I did about 150. Cut yarn and fasten off. Attach yarn on the other side and repeat for the second neck strap. Then attach the yarn to the bottom corner of the top and make a chain of 250-300. Fasten off and repeat for the other side.

Weave in all your ends and you are now finished your crochet crop top. Enjoy
