Modern, stylish and airy, the Zinnia Top is a summer wardrobe essential! With easy granny stitches throughout giving it a light and airy feel as well as a ribbed neck and hemline, this super easy crochet summer top is perfect this upcoming season.

Crocheted from the top down beginning at the ribbed neckline, this top can easily be made to be form fitting or oversized and boxy. The length can also be adjusted for a cropped or full length tee.

The Zinnia Top was made using a lightweight, 100% cotton yarn keeping you cool on hot summer days. It is perfect worn over a cute bralette or a simple tank top as part of a cute summer outfit. You could also make it slightly oversized as a bikini cover up. Now how perfect would that be?

CONSTRUCTION
I wanted to create a summer top that could have the fit of it easily customizable for a perfect fit, so I designed the Zinnia Top from the neckline down. Firstly the neckline is crocheted using several rows of single crochet working into the back loops only giving a ribbed look. Then we will move onto the beloved granny stitch which is just clusters of double crochets separated by a chain one. We will be creating raglan increases at four points of the top which will create the back, front and two sleeves. This is where you can easily customize the fit of your top. The pattern will give a row count for the increases but this can easily be adjusted for either a form fitting top or more of a looser, boxy feel.
Once you are happy with the fit along your bust line we will connect for the sleeves and work the bottom body of the top. Again here you can adjust the length of the top by crochet more or less rows. When you are happy with the length of the top we will crochet a nice ribbed hem line giving the top a lovely finished look.
Next we move on to the sleeves and again the length here can be adjusted to your preference. A little bit of ribbing is finally added to the edge of the sleeve.
As I mentioned above, this top is easily customizable so please try the top on regularly as you crochet to get the right fit.
