Spring has arrived so what do I immediately do? I grab my hook and yarn and make crop tops.

Free crochet crop top pattern

Materials needed:

Weight 4 cotton yarn

3.5mm crochet hook.

Cups (make 2):

Row 1: Ch 17. Dc into 4th ch from hook. Dc until you reach the last ch. Make (2dc, ch1, 2dc) into that last st. Continue with dc up othe opposite side of chain. Turn.

There should now be 16 dc each side of the ch1-sp.

Row 2: Ch3, dc until you reach the ch1-sp. Make (2dc, ch1, 2dc) into that ch1-sp. Continue with dc to end of row.

Row 3-8: Repeat row 2. If you want a smaller/bigger cup do less/more rows. When you have the first cup made cut yarn and fasten off. Put to one side while you make 2nd cup. When the 2nd cup is completed do not cut yarn.

Body of top:

With yarn still attached to cup:

Turn cup so the bottom edge is facing upwards.

Ch3(counts as first dc), then dc into side of last dc in previous row. Then make 2dc into the side of the next dc. Continue making 2dc into every side of dc across bottom edge of cup You will have 32 dc.

Then ch3 and repeat on the other cup by making 2dc into side of first dc etc all the way across. You will now have a total of 67 stitches (32 across first cup, the ch3, and 32 across other cup). Turn.

Ch3, dc across making sure to put 3dc into the middle ch3 that’s between the cups. Repeat until you have a total of 5 rows.

Bottom edging:

Double treble crochet (dtr): yarn over 3 times, insert hook into stitch, yo, draw loop through, [yo, draw through 2 loops on hook] 4 times.

With yarn still attached

Ch5, skip 2 sts, 1 treble crochet in next, *ch2, skip 2 sts, 1 treble crochet into the next st. Repeat from * to end.

Ch3, skip 2 ch, 1 dtr into next tr, ch4, 5dtr around the post of the dtr you just made, *skip(next 2ch, 1tr, and following 2ch), then work 1 dtr in next tr, ch4, 5dtr around post of the dtr you just made. Repeat from * across the row. End this row by skipping 2ch, 1tr into next st. Cut yarn and fasten off.

Cup edging:

Attach yarn to the ch1-sp on the top of the cup.

Ch4, skip next st, dc into the following st, *ch1, skip 1, dc into next st. Repeat from * 1 more time.

Make a dtr into the middle stitch of the 3 middle dcs that are between the cups, then make a dc into the 2nd dc up the next cup. Then *ch1, skip 1, dc into next. Repeat 13 more times making sure to place last dc into the ch1-sp on the top of the cup. Do not cut yarn. Continue here with a ch of 150 for your shoulder strap. Cut yarn and fasten off. Attach yarn to the ch1-sp of the other cup and make another strap.

***Attach yarn to bottom edge around the side of the dc post. Ch3 (counts as first dc) then make a dc around the same dc post. Continue making 2dc around each dc post until you have a total of 10 dc. Turn.

Ch3, then make 9dc across. Turn. Repeat this row one more time.

With yarn still attached make a ch of 300. This is one of the back straps. Cut yarn and attach to the top of the ch3 on the other end and make another ch 300. Repeat from *** on the other side of the top.

Weave in all ends and you are ready to go.
