I designed this crochet flower crop top for the gal who is not afraid of a little bit of risk. Yes it is slightly revealing but hey if you got the balls, wear it!
I used a Dk (weight 3) cotton yarn. I’m nearly sure it was Sirdar. I also used a 4mm crochet hook.
The cups:
12 dc into magic ring. Slip stitch into first dc you made.
Ch 5, skip 1st ch, sc into remains 4 chains. Slip stitch into the next stitch. Repeat all the way around, and close with slip stitch . You should now have 12 petals. Cut yarn and fasten off.
Attach yarn to the top of any petal with a slip stitch. Make 2 sc at the very top of the petal.
*Ch 3 and move onto the next petal. Make 2 sc at the top of this petal. Repeat from * all the way around. When you have finished with your last petal make a ch 3 and then slip stitch into the very first sc that you made at the beginning of the round.
Ch 1, sc into same space, sc into next st, then make 3sc into the ch3-space. Repeat all the way around making sure to sc into the 2sc at the top of the petals and make 3sc into the ch3-spaces. At the end of this round make a slip stitch to the first sc of the round.
Ch 2 (not counted as 1st dc). Make a dc into same space. Make 1 dc into next 4 sts. Then make 1 hdc into next st,
Make 1sc into next 8sts
Then 1 hdc into next stitch.
1dc into next 5 sts, ch3.
**1dc into next 5 sts,
1 hdc into next st,
1sc into next 8 sts
1 hdc into next st
1dc into next 5 sts, ch3. Repeat from ** one more time. Sip stitch to the very first stitch you made at the start of the round.
Ch2, dc all the way around to the next ch3-sp. in this space make (3dc, ch2, 3dc). Continue making a dc into each stitch around making sure you place (3dc, ch2, 3dc) into the 2 remaining ch3-spaces. When you reach the end of the round make a slip stitch into the very first stitch that you made at the beginning of the round.
If you want the cups bigger repeat the last round until it fits your breast.
Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in all ends. Now make your second cup in the same way.
The body of the top:
With a new piece of yarn ch 20. With the wrong side of the cup facing you and working on the bottom edge, attach your ch 20 with a dc to the corner ch2-sp. Dc all the way acrosss the bottom edge of the cup making sure to put your last dc into the corner ch2-sp.
Attach to the 2nd cup by making a dc into the corner ch2-sp (making sure the second cup is also wrong side facing. Dc all the way across this cup making sure the last dc is made in the corner ch2-sp.
With yarn still attached ch 22. Dc into the 2nd ch from hook. Dc all the way across the bottom edge of the top and also into the ch 20 on the other side.
Ch 2, turn, dc all the way across. Repeat the row until you have reached your desired length. Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in all ends.
The space between the two cups was a bit far apart for my liking so I cut a very long piece of yarn and weaved it through the two cups.
For the straps I just chained 110 and sc all the way down the chain until I reached the ch2-sp on the peak of the cup.
Then attach yarn to the corner on the body part of the top and chain 150. Repeat this for the 3 remaining corners.
Now you’re finished!

I was just wondering if it ties around the back or if it just ties around the neck? And if it’s just tied around the neck, where would you recommend starting a chain to tie around the back?
Caitlin
Never mind, I was misreading the pattern. I figured it out 🙂

I am so happy I found this, my hubby constantly teases me that I should make a crop top like this

Hi and thank you for this pattern. I have a question about the strap lengths. For the first tie you state to ch 110. For the remaining three you state to ch 150. Is there a reason the second neck strap is a different length than the first? Other than that, I’m enjoying this!!
