Shawls are the perfect accessory to spruce up any outfit. You could be wearing one of the most dull and boring outfits but add a beautiful shawl to the mix you have just elevated your outfit game!
I love that you can make a shawl in any shape or construction from triangle, to rectangle or crescent but my favourite has to be the asymmetrical shawl. I love that you can keep crocheting to your perfect length or width and not have to constantly worry about running out of yarn. The best thing about the Morrigan Shawl is you can keep crocheting until you either find your perfect dimensions or run out of yarn, whichever comes first!

CONSTRUCTION
The beautiful Morrigan Shawl consists of simple basic crochet stitches such as the single crochet and the double crochet. First we begin with three stitches on row one, a single crochet, chain one and another single crochet. From here on we will be increasing one stitch on just one side of the shawl, giving the piece this wonderful asymmetrical shape. I find it’s much easier to place a stitch marker on the side of the increases for at least the first few rows so you don’t lose which side you increase!
The stitch I used for the majority of the shawl was the single crochet columns stitch. It simply consists of single crochets separated with one chain and is a two row repeat. After a few rows of working the single crochet column stitch we will then break things up by crocheting a row of double crochet stitches also separated with a chain one. I find the rows of double crochets break up the ominous look of the single crochets and add a little something to catch the eye.
