Learn to crochet this easy, oversized, crochet Duille Scarf. Designed to be extra oversized, this scarf will blanket you in so much coziness this winter. The free pattern for the Duille Scarf is accompanied with a step by step video tutorial so please scroll down to view.

My love for texture is never ending and with that I created this beautiful crochet Duille Scarf. The word Duille [dil-a] is Irish and translates to “leaf” in English. When I discovered this stitch I immediately thought its appearance resembled falling leaves so of course I had to create a crochet piece using it. I was in desperate need of an oversized scarf so I thought to myself, “why not crochet one for myself”. The Duille Scarf was born!

If you prefer your scarf to be less oversized I do give details in the pattern on how you can customize its length and width. I know not everyone will be a lover of the extremely oversized look. The scarf also has a long fringe on both ends but again you can omit this if you prefer.

YARN

The yarn I used for the Crochet Duille Scarf was Fluffy Day XL in the shade Rust (18) from Hobbii. If you are a lover of their DK version of this yarn, you will surely love this. Fluffy Day XL is a weight 5, bulky yarn that is both light and thick.

Fluffy Day XL is spun from premium acrylic yarn with a brushed appearance, giving it a thick mohair appearance. A yarn like this is perfect for cardigans, sweaters and scarves because it can be washed easily due to the acrylic content of this fibre.

This yarn line has a big range of colours in the line, so I’m sure there is something for everyone.
