Ok I can now admit I have developed a very unhealthy obsession with bobbles! Everywhere I look I see bobbles. It seems to be this seasons biggest craze. So I just had to had jump on the the bobble bandwagon with this crochet winterberry cardigan sweater.
Materials needed:
10 balls of super bulky yarn.
10mm crochet hook.
Berry stitch (Bst): insert hook in stitch, pull up a loop, ch 3, yo and pull through remaining 2 loops
Pattern.
Back
Ch 30 for size small…. Ch 34 for medium… Ch 38 for large.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc to end of row. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1(not counted as stitch) sc in first st, *bst into next st, sc into next st, repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1(not counted as stitch), sc all the way across the row. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, (not counted as stitch), **bst into first st, sc into next st. Repeat from ** to end. You will be left with one st remaining so place a sc into that last stitch. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc all the way across to the end of the row. Turn.
Repeat rows 2-5 until piece measures from top of shoulder to your hip. Do not cut yarn.
First front panel:
With yarn still attached-
Row 1: Ch 1, *sc into first st, bst into next st, sc into next, repeat across until you have created 6 berry sts. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc across to end of row.
Row 3: Ch 1, *bst into first st, sc into next st, repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc across to end. Turn.
Repeat rows 1-4 over and over again until this front panel is the same length as the back panel. Cut and fasten off.
Attach your yarn into the 4th st from the front panel you just completed.
Repeat rows 1-4 of the other front panel for this panel. Make sure back and both of you front panels are all the same length.
Regardless of the size you are making you will always have 3 unworked sts between both front panels so so can calculate what your stitch count for each of your front panels yourself.
Attach yarn to bottom corner of the cardigan and either sc or sew the side seams until you are about 7 inches away from the top. Repeat for other side.
