Learn to crochet this quick and pretty easy crochet cropped sweater. If you recently tried my Harvest Moon Pocket Shawl and loved it, well you are in for a treat with this gorgeous turtleneck sweater.

The Laoise Cropped Turtleneck sweater is the perfect sweater to wear as we come near the end of winter. Designed with plenty of texture and coziness in mind, this sweater would suit an adventurous crochet lover.
Both of the front and back panels are the exact same and the sweater is designer with just a two row repeat. How perfect is that?

When I had this sweater in mind I wanted it to be slightly cropped but if you would rather it be a bit longer you simply add more rows. The sweater is a pretty standard fit but if you want it a little oversized I would suggest you make it a size or two bigger than your actual size. So as you can see it is a pretty customizable top.
This pattern comes with an accompanying video tutorial if you are more of a visual learner. Please scroll down to view it.

SWEATER CONSTRUCTION
This sweater is crocheted in 4 panels – front, back and 2 sleeves. The front and back panels are the exact same and worked from the bottom up. First we crochet the ribbing then we work along the long edge of this ribbed hem until the designated length. The sleeves are worked in the same way, starting at the ribbed cuff, then working along the long edge to a designated length. Once all 4 panel are made we will stitch them together using our yarn needle and the long tails left over. Lastly we work in rounds around the neckline to create our turtleneck.

Lay your back panel on a flat surface with the right side facing up. Now place the front panel on top of back panel with the right side facing down. With you yarn needle and tails sew across the shoulders attaching the two panels together.
Next lay entire piece out flat with the wrong side facing up. Grab one of your sleeves and mark the middle stitch. Line that stitch up with a shoulder seam and sew across connecting the sleeve to the top. Repeat for other sleeve.
Now fold your sweater over and sew along the under edge of sleeve and down along the edge of sweater. Repeat on other side of sweater.
Now turn sweater right side out.
NECKLINE:
Attach yarn to the side of neckline near the shoulder seam.
Round 1: ch 1, hdc all the way around the neckline. Slst to first hdc to close the round.

Hello Carrie,
I have been watching your patterns on Pinterest, and U-tube. I have started your Laoise Sweater, and am loving the pattern. It is challenging, but your great video and tutorial has made it so easy. I enjoy hearing your soft, calm voice….urging me to complete yet another row on my project. It is coming out great, and I will post a pic when it is completed. I love the texture, combined with the softness of the yarn I chose for this garment. Thank you for such a lovely sweater pattern.
