This quick and easy crochet pocket shawl combines beginner-friendly stitches to create a timeless piece that will follow you through any season of the year.
With last year’s success of my Harvest Moon Pocket Shawl I thought it was only right that I release another shawl and boy, this one is another firm favorite of mine. You all know I love texture throughout my pieces, so with a simple four row repeat you will practically be able to crochet this with your eyes closed!
CONSTRUCTION
This crochet pocket shawl has a simple construction. Firstly we will crochet a certain amount of stitches to begin the bottom ribbed hem and work back in forth with rows of back loop single crochets until the hem is long enough to suit our needs. If you find the number of rows stated in the pattern are not long enough for you, you will simply add more rows but you must make sure this number of rows is an odd number.

Once we have finished crocheting the bottom ribbed hem, we will work along the ends of each single crochet row to create the main body of the shawl. Once we are happy with the width of our shawl we will fasten off and begin working on the two identical pocket. Finally we will stitch the pockets to each end of the shawl and end by adding some fringe to each end.
YARN
This Fall crochet pocket shawl uses Hobbii Divina. This yarn is a weight 4 (aran) mix of baby alpaca and merino wool which creates an unbelievably soft and airy yarn. The shade I chose for this crochet pocket shawl was Curry. I don’t know about you but when it comes to Fall I want to crochet or knit everything in mustards or rust shades and let me tell you, this shade definitely does not disappoint. I’m already planning to make a matching hat with this beautiful yarn.

MEASUREMENTS
The length of the shawl, minus the fringe, is approximately 66 inches and the width is 14 inches. However, this shawl is pretty easy to customize to any measurement. When you crochet the beginning ribbed hem continue with as many rows as you wish but make sure that number of rows is an odd number. If you don’t think a width of 14 inches is not enough you can add more rows but make sure that the last two rows you finish on are double crochet rows.
